Stormy!

This is Stormy- the Carolina Hurricanes mascot.

I absolutely LOVE him, he is so cute & has a great, fun personality! I have always wanted to meet him & especially have a photo taken with him  yes I am aware it is a stuffed pig but unless you see him in action you don't see how darling he is!). Anyhow tonight, my dear friend Tess scored free tickets to the Canes - Penguins game from her coworker who couldn't go.  They were 3 rows from the glass!  It was so nice not only because it was a game against my former home & my current home but my Dad & brother & cousin were also there (I only hooked up with Dad & Jordy though).  Our seats were by one of the many areas where players enter & exit the ice & Stormy came out & stood there waiting to go out during one of the 20 minute breaks. When I saw him, I stood up & yelled "nobody move"!  I think I meant for Stormy not to move but I was too excited to speak correctly!  Anyhow, I got out my phone, set it to camera, literally dove over the 3 people next to me, handed the phone to a lady & grabbed my favorite mascot & posed with him.  It made my night!!!!  Cross photo with Stormy off my bucket list!

Lane's Dedication

Today Lane was dedicated (the Baptist version of baptism) at our little Baptist church here. He will be formally baptized at our Presbyterian church in May.  Pastor John walked Lane around the congregation & talked about where Lane got his full name from & other things related to the Lord but I heard none of it as I couldn't concentrate due to a little 4 year old who did not want to act like a big boy standing in the front of the church!

Cold knife cone biopsy

If you read this blog, you'll recall a previous post about me having pre cervical cancer cells.  Well, the game plan was to have a cold knife cone biopsy after the baby was born.  I had it done today. Doctor said I bled more than she would have liked & they couldn't get a handle on it. She was not able to get all of it & we decided to let pathology take its course & do another pap in June to see where it is & will do another LEAP procedure then if need be to get the rest of it. If I were to get pregnant again, I would need a stitch to keep the baby from falling out or delivering too early. I feel great & all is well, although with all the medicine & complications it was a week or so before I was really back to normal.  Still no cancer which is the reason for the LEAP's & cone biopsy to keep me from getting it.

Steven Lane is born!

Baby Lane came into the world 2 days late in the late afternoon of Jan 10. It was only 16 minutes of pushing & about 7 or so hours total which proves what I've heard that 2nd babies come faster & in shorter time. Steven is for Jon's dad Steve Driggers & Lane is for my mom Marlana Lewis. Both died too young & soon for us but I know they love their namesake from Heaven!
