Dearest Papa
This is Jon's Dad who died 3 years ago today way too soon for us. We love & miss him everyday. We wish so much he was here to continue to share in our lives. He was wonderful & I'm so glad he was my father in law & the best one at that! We love you!

A Day at the Beach
Today, we went to Wrightsville Beach for the day. Keeping with tradition, Aunt Gabby was here for Spenser's birthday. We had a great day!
Wave got him!
Ready to surf!
With Mommy & Aunt Gabby
Can you see Gabby & I sitting in the middle of the ocean?

Spenser's 4th birthday!
We had Spenser's 4th birthday party at our house today. We bought an inflatable pool & I put it at the end of the slide on the swing set so the kids could have a water slide & it was a huge hit! I think I'll have to try this later myself!

PSA for Women
This may or may not be TMI depending on who you are but it needs to be said. I was regular with my yearly paps until Spenser was born. I have to admit it had been years since I had one. No real reason except that they'd always been fine. Jon & I had been trying for a year or more to get pregnant & it wasn't working. Even with ovulation kits, nothing was happening & I just couldn't understand why. Frustrated, I went to my OBGYN for an explanation. They did a pap smear & it came back loaded with pre cervical cancer cells, meaning it was just a matter of months before I would have full blown cervical cancer. I've had 2 operations to get it out & once the doctor gave Jon & I the go ahead for sex, we got pregnant that very first time! The cancer cells had blocked the entrance& therefore I couldn't get pregnant. Basically not getting pregnant had saved my life. Moral of the story, get your yearly pap!!!!

New bathtub
Our bathtub has been leaking into the kitchen ceiling light so Jon has been installing a new tub for about the past few weeks. A very big undertaking. In the end we had our friend Robbie finish it.
Taking the old one out
It's all gone!
New one is coming together
Just need to caulk & drywall a little & it will be done!
